Full Moon in Capricorn
In this episode, I talk about the the full moon in Capricorn on July 13, 2022 and touch on how it emotionally speaks to the overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
Here are the astro stats for this full moon:
Culmination of the new moon in Cancer on June 29, 2022 (you can find out more about lunar cycles here)
Full moon occurs at 21 degrees 21 of Capricorn
Aspects on this day include a square to Jupiter in Aries and an opposition to Mercury in Cancer
More general thoughts on this particular moon is that it speaks to conflict between putting your higher ideals in action (square to Jupiter in Aries) and could negate more sentimental feelings (opposition to Mercury in Cancer) in favor of a stiff upper lip, I’ll-go-the-road-alone feeling or makes it difficult to voice your needs.
A song for moon in Capricorn
As I mention in the podcast, Saturn-ruled Capricorn is a difficult placement for the moon. The moon is a sensitive, emotional planet that craves connection, but its placement in Capricorn (the sign of its detriment) brings in the harshness of a cruel, lonely world that can sometimes lead to depression and feelings of isolation.
However, with suffering comes maturity. People with Capricorn moon natally often have to grow up fast and may be subjected to the school of emotional hard knocks. But what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.
Though often tough when you’re young, like anything Saturnian, Capricorn moon gets better with age. At its best, this placement brings maturity and strength others can depend on – from someone whose been through the emotional wringer and come out the other end.
I should know, since my natal moon is in Capricorn. When I was in high school, one of my favorite songs was “I am a rock” by Simon and Garfunkel. The ultimate Capricorn moon song if there ever was one!
